For FALL 2012...ANSC 398 is listed under ANSC 499: EXP (CRN 60129). For registration, sign up for ANSC 499. Once ANSC 398 has been formally approved, you will be contacted to sign up for ANSC 398. Proceed with the Memorandum of Agreement and complete a work product to gain graded credit for this course.
The Animal Sciences curriculum requires you to participate in an experiential learning activity in order to expose you to many aspects of animal sciences, society, and culture and offer you an opportunity to engage in learning at a personal level. These experiences also allow you to demonstrate your capacity to solve real-life problems in real-life environments and provide you with insights that will help you explore your career interests.
This requirement is fulfilled through at least one graded hour of enrollment in ANSC 398 and completion of a work product. These work products will allow you to reflect upon your learning relate your experiential learning to other parts of your curriculum. They will also provide concrete records of your experiences to use in the ANSC 498 Integrating Animal Sciences course during your senior year.
Planning your ANSC 398 experience is up to you. It can be almost anything you want it to be as long as it is an experience that relates to Animal Sciences. You will select a faculty instructor to oversee your experience and agree with them on the specifics of what is required. In order to enroll in ANSC 398, you must first complete the Memorandum of Agreement with your faculty instructor.
