Samantha Wojnicki

  • Hometown: Lindenhurst, IL
  • Degrees: Animal Science, BS, 2014, University of Illinois, Urbana, IL
  • Description of Research: My research focuses on disease challenge and nutrition. Currently I am working on looking at the immunomodulatory effects of pre-biotics on disease challenge in the gut of weaning age piglets. The overall goal of my research is to better understand how the immune system responds to pre-biotics during the time of disease challenge, as well as looking at how significantly the pre-biotic feed ingredient can lessen or alleviate the disease.
