Animal Sciences 305 - Human-Companion Animal Interactions

This course explores the current and historical interactions of humans with non-human animals in our society from an interdisciplinary approach.  Topics include animal emotions and intelligence, animal portrayal in religion, arts, and popular culture, and working roles of animals in society. Instances where the bond between humans and companion animals are broken will also be discussed; such as issues pertaining to animal abuse and neglect.  Pre-requisite: ANSC 250
